PRIMARY FUNCTION:  Incumbent works under the direction of the Health Center Administrator or designee, and oversees the Social Services Department assisting residents/patients in maintaining or improving their ability to manage everyday physical, mental, and psychosocial needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work required. Master’s degree in Social Work preferred. Three (3) years of social services experience in a long-term care facility or geriatric setting required. One year supervisory experience in a social work environment required. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and own mode of transportation at the time of hire and throughout the course of employment. Completion of pre-employment background checks and a drug screen is required.

Sandhills Care Center in Ainsworth Nebraska is looking for an experienced Director of Nursing to organize and oversee all nursing operations of the facility. Responsibilities

  • Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel (registered nurses, LPN etc.)
  • Guide staffing procedures
  • Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department
  • Organize and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care procedures
  • Develop and enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high-quality standards
  • Control budgets and monitor expenditures
  • Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed
  • Manage record-keeping procedures
  • Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations
  • Report to upper management

Skills

  • Proven experience as director of nursing
  • In-depth knowledge of center procedures for patient care
  • Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting
  • Great knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare
  • Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in nursing administration
  • Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel
  • Great communication and people skills
  • Outstanding organizational and stress management skills
  • Aptitude in problem-solving
  • Degree in nursing; Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare administration is a plus
  • Valid nursing and CPR certification

This is a full-time job, Monday to Friday. Benefits are available and the wage is negotiable depending upon experience, etc.

    • Description: Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, and/or designee, and in compliance with state statutes and regulations governing the practice of nursing, incumbents provide direct, hands-on, personal, high quality nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and physician orders.
    • Requirements: Diploma from an accredited college or university in nursing required.
    • Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse with current nursing license from Nebraska or a compact state recognized by the Nebraska Board of Nursing at the time of hire, and maintain the license in good standing throughout the course of employment.
  • Medication Aide- Long-term Care
    • Job Type: Short Term/Part-time/ Full-time
    • Description: Administer medications and treatments within defined scope of practice, administration guidelines and physician orders, ensuring compliance with physician orders. Review resident allergies prior to administering medication/treatments. Verify the correct medication was received from the pharmacy prior to delivery to resident. Document administration or refusal of medications/treatments in appropriate records, and notify the nurse of any medication/treatment refusal immediately.
    • Requirements: Attainment of a State certified 40-hour Medication Aide certification class and exam and maintained in good standing.
  • Nursing Assistant- Long-term Care
    • Job Type: Short Term/Part-time/ Full-time
    • Description: Assist residents with hygiene needs and activities of daily living (ADL's).  Assist resident with restorative nursing based on plan of care.  Maintain workspace, resident room, and common space cleanliness.  Obtain/replenish supplies, and notify supervisor of equipment malfunction.
    • Requirements: Successful completion of a State certified 75-hour Nursing Assistant course required and maintained in good standing.
